Here at SB Thomas, we have years of experience in a wide range of Transportation Planning services. Anywhere you drive in western PA, our team has left their mark on many roads and bridges.

Our team has provided Project Management services to lead the development of the Traffic Calming program for the City of Pittsburgh. Over 5 years this program grew from receiving 16 requests the first year to receiving over 300 requests per year. Our team manages the public requests, traffic data collection, and develop an engineering score for each request. In 5 short years we have managed the installation of over 200 traffic calming devices all over the City of Pittsburgh.

Our team can collect traffic data for a wide variety of needs. This traffic data can be used in traffic studies or for public safety departments to prioritize safety measures.  Utilizing radar traffic counters, we are able to safely and efficiently collect traffic volume and speeds.  Our team has collected data at over 500 locations across the City of Pittsburgh for their Traffic Calming department.  SB Thomas can provide their clients with the following traffic surveys:
