Steve Shadle, PE

Steve Shadle serves as Chief Operating Officer for SB Thomas and brings more than three decades of leadership experience in engineering, construction management, transportation infrastructure, and operations.

Steve leads the company’s day-to-day operations while working closely with division managers to support staff, strengthen client relationships, improve operational performance, and execute the firm’s long-term strategic vision. His leadership style is rooted in collaboration, accountability, and developing strong teams that consistently deliver exceptional results.

Throughout his career, Steve has managed major transportation and infrastructure programs for public agencies across Pennsylvania and New England, including PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pittsburgh Regional Transit, Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, and numerous municipal clients.

Steve believes successful projects are built on communication, trust, and strong leadership. He works closely with project teams, division managers, and clients to provide hands-on support, mentor staff, and help deliver the high level of service that has become synonymous with SB Thomas.
