Dan Ference
Project Manager
Dan joined the SB Thomas team in 2019 as a Project Manager. Dan specializes in Traffic Calming and the management of traffic data. He has managed traffic data and developed traffic calming programs for local governments. In the last 5 years, Dan’s leadership has helped local governments install over 200 traffic calming devices including Speed Humps, Speed Tables, and Traffic Circles and his team has collected data at 480 different locations in the Pittsburgh area. These locations are used to monitor sites for Traffic Calming, Bridge Analysis, and Post Construction analysis.
Dan has worked on a variety of projects including one of the first adaptive traffic control systems in Pennsylvania that was implemented to run 10 traffic signals.
Dan graduated from Penn State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career in traffic engineering design, specializing in Traffic Signal design and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. In 2009, while working full time, Dan received his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Robert Morris University.
Dan lives in Wexford with his wife Alison, and 2 children Connor and Tyler. He is a board member for Ingomar Franklin Park Little League and coaches 3 different baseball teams.
