Project Overview:

The result of the Negley Station Improvements Project by Pittsburgh Regional Transit will allow visitors and residents much improved access and features within a modern bus station facility for accessing the Martin Luther King Jr. Busway. This station will continue to serve the residents of nearby neighborhoods Shadyside, East Liberty and Bloomfield. The project includes new concrete sidewalks, steps, ADA-compliant curb ramps, signage, energy-efficient lighting and new station canopies. The work sequence is to happen over the course of several phases to allow users to continue to utilize the bus stops while under construction. Physical work began in March 2022 and is on schedule to be completed by November 2022. Prime contractor is Plavchak Construction of Elizabeth, PA.

Project Role:

Under CDR Maguire’s on-call CM/CI contract with Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT), CDR Maguire is providing a Resident Construction Manager and has engaged SB Thomas & Associates as a sub-consultant to provide a Transportation Construction Inspector on this project. The CDR Maguire and SB Thomas team is responsible for conducting daily on-site inspections, completing daily inspection reports, providing photo documentation, calculating actual quantities of work completed, monitoring the contractor’s progress, and reviewing and responding to submittals and RFI among other functions.
