Project Overview:

This project involves the rehabilitation of platforms 2, 4, 6, and 8 along Grandview Avenue. The rehabilitation work includes concrete spall repairs, underside of platforms, replacement of knee walls, sidewalks, railing painting and minor electrical among other items. Coordination of this project is critical as the work is being performed in a condensed area that is a tourist attraction for the Pittsburgh-area. Additionally, the work must occur around platform reservations for special events such as weddings and not more than one platform can be closed at a time.

Project Role:

SB Thomas & Associates is providing construction inspection and project administration services on this project for the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Mobility & Infrastructure (DOMI). We have staffed this project with a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) who is responsible to assist with issue resolution, conduct daily on-site inspections, complete daily inspection reports, provide photo documentation, calculate actual quantities of work completed, monitor the contractor’s progress, review monthly pay estimates, and review and respond to submittals and RFI among other functions.
