Project Overview:

Under SB Thomas’ on-call contract with Allegheny County Department of Public Works (ACDPW), SB Thomas was issued a task to provide construction management & inspection services on the South Park Green Parking Lot project. This project included E&S controls, site grading activities including excavations for underground storage, utility installation, and subsurface stormwater system, general hardscape installation including concrete and permeable pavers, landscaping and lighting installations, as well as other specialty hardscape installations like precast boardwalk systems. This highly visible project had a ground breaking ceremony in July 2021 and a ribbon cutting in December 2021 that was attended by local and County officials.

Project Role:

SB Thomas & Associates provided CM/CI services for ACDPW on the project. We staffed this project with a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) who was responsible to conduct daily on-site inspections, complete daily inspection reports, provide photo documentation, conduct bi-weekly job progress meetings and prepare meeting minutes, calculate actual quantities of work completed, monitor the contractor’s progress, prepare monthly pay estimates, and review and respond to submittals such as sources of supply and material certifications and RFI among other functions.
